How do you stay fit and healthy? Why is it important to you?
I borrow from varying training methodologies for symmetry in my fitness regime. By incorporating calisthenics, functional training patterns and yoga into my training I can maintain a balanced body and mind. Fitness is integrated into my lifestyle. It not only makes me feel capable, but it has become an amazing medium for me to reach out and inspire those around me. Motivating others is my true passion and as a personal trainer and gym owner I get to share that with others daily.
How do you maintain a healthy lifestyle? How has that lifestyle helped you overcome challenges in your life?
I sustain my healthy habits through consistency, dedication and self discipline. Whether it's early morning training or after a 14 hour work day, I find myself asking "How bad do you want this?". It's that same mentality that has taught me how to put 100% of myself into all of my work. Those principles helped me build a business from the ground up, graduate college and create a sustainable life for myself.
How do you give back to your community/friends/family?
I have had the privilege of meeting people from all walks of life as a personal trainer. My job gives me the opportunity to not only help people reach their goals, but sometimes change their lives. I've helped 'bench' athletes get into Division 1 schools. I've had clients leave me 80 lbs lighter with a greater perspective on life. Despite my hectic schedule,I make myself accessible to my friends and family.Whether its a ride to the airport or helping friends who are down on their luck, I make sure to be there for people who look to me for help.
How do you measure success? Have you achieved it?
I don't measure success through single achievements that are monetary or tangible. To me success is established through the continuity of individual's endeavors. It's substantiating a goal and achieving it without a sacrifice of moral or character. In a world with so much negativity and misfortune, I can appreciate how subjective achievements truly are. In so many words- A man defines his success, but success doesn't define the man. I am still working to define my own.
